What are some non-constipating foods?

I heard oatmeal is good for constipation.I know about fruits and vegetables

  • yep, fiber rich foods - whole grains, fruit & veggies. The more raw the better for the fruits and veggies as the fiber can be cooked out of them.

  • Oatmeal's never worked for me, it doesn't have enough fiber. I prefer All Bran or Fiber One original cereals, or adding oat bran to muffins, or plenty of cooked dry beans & lentils in various dishes.

  • I really like the Fiber One products. They are very tasty! Also, if you can add any fruit (except bananas) to your high-fiber cereal. Then try adding at least one veggie to each meal, this will help. Try to make it dark green. Seeds like pumpkin and sunflower are also great.

  • Sorry, I just re-read your post. I added the veggies and fruit because it is really the combination of these things that makes it all work better...also, you have to drink water to push it all through. Eating all the fiber in the world will not help if you aren't getting enough water. HTH
