I taught my daughter to dance and now she likes to shake her booty.
My MIL said a 2 yr old shouldn't know how to wiggle her butt.
I fine it very cute!
We went to Denny's one time for dinner and she ran into the bar there because she heard must (she loves music) and she sat there shaking her butt, Everyone in there laughed and when I told my MIL the story she disapproved.

  • Your MIL needs to chill. The intent behind it matters. If she's shaking her booty for attention at 14,its a whole other ballgame.

  • To me, it is inappropriate. I also think little girls in makeup, bikinis and skimpy clothes is inappropriate. the will wear and learn all those things soon enough.. Teaching a 2 yr old to dance..great..shaking the booty..not so much. IMHO.

  • I wouldn't worry about it too much unless she was doing some straight up stripper moves. At her age it's still cute and innocent.

  • It sounds fine. When my girl falls I tell her to shake it off. She shakes and her butt just wiggles! She's five and it's cute. Like a PP said, she's not 14 and looking for tips from the people in the bar. :-)

  • Oh please... All kids dance. My two year old shakes her booty (something she has NEVER seen me do. LOL) and my five year old son thinks he's a breakdancer! =)

  • There is NOTHING wrong with dancing... It's not like you were teaching her to pole dance or strip... If your mother in law is really that high strung I would tell her to just butt out!
