if you have a coffee pot with the mesh basket inside...

do you still use a coffee filter or do you just place the coffee inside the basket?

  • No filter needed. Place in dishwasher on top rack to wash or fill up coffeepot with water & vinegar & run through a few times to clean out machine.

  • Yes, coffee filter as well because if Idon't then it's harder to clean the mesh filter.

  • I have one like that and the coffee tasted really odd to me when I would use it. So I started putting one regular filter in, with just a small extra scoop of coffee and it tastes fine to me.

  • No filter needed. It's a reuseable filter. I don't care for them personally. It's hard to get them clean.

  • i still use a filter. its easier to clean. the filters are recyclable, so no worries here!

  • I still use an unbleached filter. The mesh things are a nightmare to clean.

  • We don't use a paper filter, the coffee goes straight into the mesh filter and we stick it in the dishwasher when it's done.

  • The coffee maker we had before this one didn't need a filter. But for some reason this coffee maker we have now allows a few of the finer grounds to pass through, so I use one to keep from having a few granules floating in there. Chunky coffee....ewww.
