  • She was pulling herself up and walking along side the couch at around 9 months. :-)
It wasn't until around 15 months that she took her first solo step. It varies so much with each kid.

  • My son would crawl to the tables to lift himself up and use the table as a support to start walking. He did this at about 8 or 9 months old. He also used to do it in his crib. I started walking on my own when i made a year.

  • My older son didn't start walking on his own until he was 17 months old. He would walk holding on things, especailly this fire truck with a handle on the back. He used that thing to get all around the house. But when he walked by himself, he RAN!! No lilttle toddle and fall steps there.
My little guy, he took his first steps at 12 and 1/2 months, but took two steps and fell. He was still cautious. Only took a step or two before grabbing on to things and only took those 2 steps when he knew something was there to grab onto. Now he is 13 and 1/2 months old and is starting to take 6 to 7 steps before easing himself gently down.

  • Kids learn to walk on their own. That is why putting them on the floor is a good thing. So they can learn how to crawl, then pull themselves up on things then walk.
