Are whirlpool tubs safe?

We are getting a new whirlpool bathtub in a few weeks. Does anyone know if these are safe to use while pregnant?

  • Be careful of the heat and any pressure on your tummy from jets. There are also some pressure points on your back that could make pregnancy uncomfortable. Talk to your doctor to make sure. If you call the office, one of the nurses should be able to give you advice on the phone.

  • No, the heat is not good for your baby. It makes both of your temperatures rise which could hurt the baby if it gets too high. I heard no hotter than bath water and not to stay in long. Ask a doc or nurse before you do it. If it's not too hot, than I'd say it was safe but not like a hot tub

  • it's not the bubbles that are the problem.... Most say not to use a hot tub because of the bacteria. But if it's just your bathtub with bubbles, your totally ok! Enjoy!

Of course the jury is still out on the hot tub thing......

  • Ladies.... it's a bathtub that blows bubbles!!!!!!!!!

If it's just a bath tub, then she controls the temp....... don't you in your BATHTUB?
Come on use some common sense!
It's not the pressure from the jets, or the temp, it's the bateria that is the problem.. and thats in hot tubs, which a BATH TUB is not!
Would you all be saying the same thing if she were to use the whirlpool tub with cold water? No!

Honey enjoy your new tub and don't worry about it. It is a great stress reliever and you need that in pregnancy!!!!
