Moles? or Mice?

I have "critters" in our yard. There are many holes in the front yard, and I have seen a "critter" scurry across our drive. I have seen them a few times during the day light. They are seemingly too large to be a mouse, and seem to have a more pointed snout like a mole. How do I know (without catching one) what it is, and how do I rid our yard of them?

  • COuld be a gopher too... If you don't want to catch one first, look around for any mounds and sit and watch to see what pops up. We always used traps to get rid of gophers growing up, but that can be somewhat .... messy :(
