Are you a saint for accepting Jesus?

Just a follow up from a post below. If you are forgiven of your sins b/c you accept JEsus, and this makes you a saint; is this why a lot of people take it upon themselves to judge others and condemn them?

  • If it were that easy to be a Saint, there would be billions, not the few there are.

  • Certain people from all religions judge and condemn others. It's not just those that except Jesus. And no, it doesn't make them a saint.

  • YES!! One preacher put it, "you are either a Saint, or you ain't" ;-) The word saint comes from the Greek word "hagios" which means “consecrated to God, holy, sacred. Therefore, Scripturally speaking, the “saints” are the body of Christ, Christians, the church. All Christians are considered saints. All Christian are saints…and at the same time are called to be saints. 1 Corinthians 1:2 states it clearly, “Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints,…” Christians are saints by virtue of their connection with Jesus Christ. Christians are called to be saints, to increasingly allow their daily life to more closely match their position in Christ. Read the New Testament. Every time the Bible mentions "the saints" it is referring to Christians!

  • I've never heard of christians referring to themselves this way. Answers a lot of questions for me though, in terms of how some of them think they need to behave towards others.
