What exactly is considered the first full flow day of a cycle?

I mean, what does full flow mean? Does it count if it's red, but for only part of the day? Or does it have to be red all day long? I hate this. I'm ready to give up.

  • When I went through fertility treatments, I was told by the Endocrinologist to count my CD1 as the first day of full flow (red) that happened before noon. Example: If I started bleeding at 6pm on Tuesday, my CD1 was not until Wednesday. But if I started bleeding at 11am on Friday, my CD1 was on Friday.

  • I always counted CD1 as the day that I bled and it was anything more than spotting
