What organic baby food do you use?

There are so many more brands out there now! I only remember Earth's Best being around when my son was a baby, 6 years ago. Has anyone tried Plum Organics or Ella's Kitchen Organic? I saw them in pouches at Babies R Us and thought they looked interesting. Thanks for the input!

  • I use Earths best, it is available at alot more places and is the best price. Ellas kitchen doesnt have a good assortment, they also mix 3-4 different kinds of food in each pouch, my ped said that isnt good for younger babies because if they get allergic reaction you wont know which fruit or vegetable caused it.
You can print off coupons on Earths best website. I only buy Earths best at Babies R Us when it is on sale and it comes out to be only $.59 per jar, I stock up and save.
The pouches are a good idea but cost more, I try to save money.

  • I made my own mostly out of organic fresh and frozen fruits and veggies. When I did buy jarred food, I used Earth's Best.

  • I've tried earth's best and gerber organics. I also feed him a little of that I eat, and just mash a little fresh fruits and veggis.

  • you don't need baby food at all. its all a marketing ploy. go direct to table food. All you need is a fork to mash and a knife to cut. You can start with naturally soft foods like avocado, butternut squash, sweet potato, and ripe pear. Of course baby should be at least six months (longer is okay). If you have to puree food into oblivion then baby isn't ready. I started at 7 1/2 months when my baby not only stopped tongue thrust but had tongue manipulation and stole food from me. I never gave purees or jar food or cereal. At 10 months she's had just about every fruit and veggie including kiwi, asparagus, persimmon, broccoli etc. check out Baby Led Solids Introduction / No purees needed
