  • We have a well and it is tested regularly. It's been consistently safe for the past 18 years.

The sad thing is that not only is it forbidden for most town/city people to have a well, they would likely not be safe at this point due to the lawn chemicals and other pollutants from vehicles and any production plants in the area.

Sadder, if someone turns that handle and no water or dirty water runs out of the faucet, most have no backup on hand. Water is a necessity and I don't understand people who take no personal responsibility towards making sure they have it in case a pipe is broken or contamination occurs. Even in town we had gallons of water stored as well as two barrels and a small fish pond in the back yard. We also had the means to make any water safe (still do!). I filtered the tap water when we lived there ... the reports said the water was safe ~ but it had more chlorine in it than the local pool, Bleck!

  • Yes. I have well water. It has been tested several times over the years just to keep on top of things. Well water is safer than treated water. We all should have kept our wells.

  • Its safer than in a 3rd world country. Everyone in America who pays a city, county or village water bill gets a water safty report EVERY year. If you live near a nuclear waste dump your water is probably less safe do to ground seapage. But all in all. Americas water is safer than most other country's in this world.

  • Our city follows the guidelines (are they good enough?)and we get a pamphlet 3 times a year that tells everything in that water. Sure Arsenic scares you because we know it is poison and can cause cancer but you don't know the half of it till you really know what is in your water. Things you have never heard of.
If any one of those items is out of wack the city has to fix it and notify the residents that it was out of wack and that they fixed it. I drink bottled water. It may not be superior but I do know it has a lot less stuff in it than tap water.
