A large truck is crossing a bridge 1 mile long. The bridge can only hold 14000 lbs, which is the exact weight of the truck. The truck makes it half way across the bridge and stops. A bird lands on the truck.

Does the bridge collapse? Give a reason.

  • No- the weight in gas (the equvilant of the weight of the bird) was burned off by the time the truck reached 1/2 way. Does that even make sense???

  • No- he stopped to get out and pee so that weight was more than the weight of the bird lol

  • No because in the middle of the bridge the weight of the truck is evenly dispersed between the two ends.
