What's the best way to get acrylic painted figures off the wall, so I can repaint the whole room?

They're a large top border, all done in layers of thick acrylic paint. I want to sand them down without beating the crap out of the wall. Should I sand by hand, or use a sander? Or is there a different way i need to be going about this? Thanks!!

  • I'd use a power sander with the lowest grit paper. once you get it smooth you can use KILZ to cover the colors
