Does the length of your cycle affect your due date?

I went on 2 web sites and of course got 2 different due dates. Most are calculated on a 28 day cycle. I've always been on a 26 day cycle and 1 site asked for that information. Can the shorter cycle really change the due date?

  • I don't see how... I'd think thats more for finding your date of conception.

  • When I entered the 26 day cycle it shaved 5 days off of the 28 day est.

  • Hmmm,I'm confused as to how gestation would change just because you're on a 26 day cycle.......

  • It would put ovulation a few days earlier so it could only change the due date by a day or so. Not really a big deal. Most babies don't really know when they are due anyway and come when they feel like it.

  • it would change what day you actually conceived so the technical due date would be different by a couple days... most drs don't ask you how long your cycle is and they will give you a different due date based on your ultrasound measurements too... just take the due date as a rough estimate because the baby will come when they feel like it haha
