inmate?

if my babys dad was in jail who could i call to find out? we're not in the same state. I don't wan tto call any o fhis family members, not that they would help me....
i've tried calling a couple of the jails but can't get a hold of a person to ask about an inmate....
would the child services division be able to find out easier??

  • a lot of counties have a website you can search...arrests are public record so a jail or the sheriffs office should be able to tell you if they are there or not.

  • I think there is a website for that information. As long as he was sent to a "State Facility". If he's in a County Jail, call the "Records Department" of the various county Jails in the area. Call in the morning & hopefully you will get a helpful person. Don't call at lunch time or late afternoon, they leave early. They will give you the info of what he was arrested for, it's public knowledge.
