Huge problem.

Right now we live in a one bedroom loft in a barn. I have a DD from a previous relationship and right now she sleeps on her bed in our living room in her own little corner space. Our bigger problem is that we just found out we are expecting our first together. We have a choice of renting our current loft, finishing the part downstairs that is pretty much ready to finish anyway for about 5G, or just sell the barn.

  • Only rent out the loft if it's completely paid for or you can afford not to have rent paid on it for several months at a time Tenants are not at all reliable when it comes to paying rent.

If you can finish it off, I would do that.

  • the market is so low. tons of people out of work and you might get good bids on the redo....it depends~do you like the school district? How long would you want to stay where you are? Do you do over the bottom for yourselves or do it over with the idea to resell (weird how the choices in finishes change if you are thinking of resell).

I'd get a 5 year idea going~this could be a good stepping up house to a better school or work area~
    (do that 10 10 10 thing~how will this affect you in 10 days, 10 months, 10 years~something like that~

  • Finish the barn and sell when the market picks up.
