When your child asks you how old you are- what do you reply?

I was 38 when my daughter was born. She is now 4 1/2 and is into asking everyone. I usually try to get away with "old enough to be your mom" or "younger than daddy". Either of those work well now, but as she get older, I will tell her the truth. What do or did you say?

  • My son doesnt ask those questions yet. He is 2 1/2. I think that when he does I will tell him how old I am. I have no problem stating my age.

  • My kid will be three in October. When she asks, I just tell her the truth. I'm not afraid of her knowing how old I am. What's she going to do, tell all the other three year olds that she knows? lol

  • eh..depends on my mood..sometimes i tell him '40', sometimes '41', sometimes 'not as old as daddy is', sometimes 'OLD!'. i do love it when i ask, ''how old do you think i am?''..he'll usually say something like '14' or '86'.
eh..age is just a number, right?
