How many people actually check their family tree before getting married anymore?

    Luckily I married someone from Pittsburgh and no ties to me at all.

  • I did my family tree after I got married.

    I found a common ancestor from 1780 something. I don't think that is close enough to count.

  • I didn't care about family trees until I was older. I wouldn't have thought to check a family tree back in the day when I was considering marriage. Just curious, what would be the point of checking a family tree before marriage? Would it be a deal breaker if the family trees didn't grow from the same soil? Not bashing, just curious

  • I never even thought about it. But we did a lot of talking about our families and none of them knew each other. We're al from the same state but very different parts. I would have if we had the same last name. :-)
