  • Depends on the exchange rate ot the dollar to the British Pound-it flucuates daily.
The times I have been it has been quite expensive, as the dollar was weak-

  • The times I was there is was fairly expensive because the dollar was very weak against the pound. Getting there wasn't as expensive because I was already living overseas and was closer.

  • I am British and it's very expensive compared to North America but cheap compared to the rest of Europe.  I was last there in April and flights were very expensive because of the Icelandic volcano.

  • Price out hotels, airfares, train tickets, etc. Pickup a guide, like Lonely Planet, from the library, and price up food, museum admission, etc.

  • And if you are traveling without kids, Hostels are a great alternative to holtels

  • Its a very expensive trip since the Pound is worth so much more than the dollar . I spent 6 weeks there in 2002 and in 2003 and it was amazing. You will need to get a tube pass while there as it is the easiest way to get around. And if your going for longer than a week price renting an apartment. Here is a link to the company I used..
They have very nice West End London Flats close to all the sights.
