What are your favorite oldies?

I'm making a CD for my kids. I want them to love all music and I don't know that many oldies.

  • The sixties were a good time musically for families with songs like knock three times, purple people eater, itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikini, etc... songs were not about anything but still entertaining.

  • I love the Eagles. Not necessarily oldies IMO, but classics. :)

  • Smokey Robinson (soft melodies, good for quiet time)
Stevie Wonder (upbeat and good for dancing)
    Aretha Franklin (good for anything)
    Chuck Berry (better than Elvis)

  • Buckinghams--Kind of a Drag and Hey baby, (they're playing our song)
    Hollies--Bus Stop
Pretty much anything by Frankie Valle and the Four Seasons or the Beatles.
Jay and the Americans have a few cute songs.

I grew up on this music. Well, sort of because I was born in the 1970s, but my dad was always playing it.
