weirdest fruit you ever tasted?

I tasted a fruit in Brazil that was big and green and prickly on the outside and nearly white on the inside and tasted like a cross between a banan and a pear. Another was a fruit that grows on the trunk of the tree and looks like a blueberry and tastes like a muskadine or grape but is white inside. It is called jabuticaba. Any other strange fruits around that you've experienced the taste of?

  • I love grapples! They are awesome. I've never eaten any strange exotic fruit...would like to though. I will take you word on the durian!

  • I tried durian fruit once. I think I would have rather eaten the ass out of a dead horse. It truly is as bad as it is reputed to be.

  • In my country (honduras) we eat Nances, I looked it up and it looks like they come from Panama. I remember eating these as a kid, they are addicting if you have the taste for them. The are like little marbles, with a yellow coating and the inside is white, you eat it all up and throw the seed up, I say to some that fruit is weird but I like them.

  • yes, star fruit is odd tasting. I made jelly with it once that tasted okay. Never tasted a nance, but it does sound very different. Isn't it amazing how much variety there is in our world that we may not have even noticed or heard of?
