  • Well then YES! Sounds like a perfect time to get a dog. Thanks for coming back with a bit more info. And thanks for taking in a soon-to-be homeless dog.

  • Depends on your circumstances... If you have the room, the desire, the time, and you know for a fact you can afford to take care of it, sure. But remember it is NOT something to do on a whim, and you can assume you will have to take care of this dog for an average of 8-15 years. Nothing I hate more than people who get a puppy because "they're so cute", then totally ignore it, get frustrated at housebreaking it, and then get rid of it when they get tired of taking care of it. Owning a dog is a responsibility, not just a right...

  • dogs are a lot more work than people think. if you are ready to take on the care of a dog then go for it. they are great companions.

  • Just like a baby you need to be able to financially, physically, and emotionally be able to take care of a dog. So if you can do all that, why not? Just do a lot of research on the kind of dog you want.

  • Yes, but only if you are ready to commit to a lifetime of caring and expenses, there is nothing more loving than having a dog greet you when you get home they have a lot of unconditional love!

  • I agree with Beckie, it is like having a kid that never grows up and don't forget on vacations sometimes you need a dog sitter, rain or shine he needs to be walked, bath time. I love animals but am not ready for another child.

  • Considering you provided no details on your situation, I'll err on the side of caution and say no.
