  • When she is ready she will say a word. Maybe not one you thought she would say. Just kee talking to her.

  • Words that have visuals...names of animals, colors, vehicles, signs...Love is a hard word to teach cause there is nothing solid to show what love is.

  • Don't worry so much about a particular word to teach next...just talk daily with her. When you say a word just say, "can you say....?" And see if she repeats it, if not go on and keep talking to her about any and everything. Eventually she will pick up on TONS of words! My son is 18 months and repeats anything we say now

  • Agree with PP my sons first word was SUPER random..Light!! But we made sure he knew what light was...we let him turn lights on and off, and every where he went thats what he pointed out. Then went from there. Cars trucks, animals outside (dogs), he LOVES cow noises!!! Reading to him has helped alot too! Hes really into his books now and "reading" them himself!

  • If you have the time sit her in front of the TV and watch PBS, or Read her a book.
Teaching a child young about Words, Colors, and even reading or Math makes it a whole lot easier when they get into elementary school. More and More kids learn by watching Mommy or Daddy doing something, Or even Grandma or Grandpa.
Words will grow as your child grows.
That's why even if they cant talk much to you. You should be doing some of the talking on a regular basis.
    It helps.
By age 2 you can really start educating there little mind and stimulating it with everything under the sun.
By age 3 they can learn so much and are ready for bigger challenges.
