My 18 month old....

didn't get her teeth until she was 10 months old. Her 1st year molars have been coming in now for about 4 months and are almost done, but she still doesn't have her incisors (canine teeth??) Her bottom 4 are looking a little crowded? Anyone else have this problem with their toddler?? I'm scheduling a dentist appt tomorrow. I just noticed the crowding is significant enough to see without making her sit real now. :(

  • sometimes kids cut their teeth different than others. My step-daughter has only cut three of her front bottom teeth and she's now 8 years old. My son has some crowding, he's nearly 4 years old now, and his dentist says that unless his teeth spread naturally than when he gets his permenant teeth he may need braces. You're doing good by taking her to the dentist though. Good job on knowing that there may be a problem instead of dismissing it like so many other mom's I've seen have done (cough cough step-daughter's birth mom cough cough cough) :D

  • lol. That's aweful. I'm adiment about teeth! My kids go every six months like clock work, I schedule each visit at the last, and they've never had cavities. My two oldest anyways- almost 4 and 5 yrs old. But my 18 month old has never been seen. Their dentist told me when she was 9 months old that if she didn't get any before she turned 1 to bring her in and he would try and get an xray below the gum line, but a month later they started coming two by two! lol. I have a bit of crowding on my bottom teeth, but my husbands are naturally perfect, then his parents have horrible teeth! His mom is only 50 and has two partials! :( So I'm very careful with my children's teeth!! :D
