If dogs are mammals why dont they have navels?

  • The definition of mammal is live born young and nursing of the young...i don't remember any reference of navals for mammals in my classes....

  • They do. I have seen my parents' dog's navel, it is usually just covered by fur.

  • They do have navels- theirs just don't form an indentation like ours do, and are hard to see because of the fur.

  • We just cut my puppy's hair and you can see a little black circle on his belly.....it's so cute, his little belly button!
