What can I add to homemade chicken soup?

That will soak up some of the fat I missed when carving the chicken? But not ruin the soup.

  • Skim most of the fat out...but not all. There's alot of flavor in it, and the soup will be lacking if you remove it all. When I don't want to wait for it to get cold, I just use a large metal spoon to skim it right off the top. Takes about 10 minutes all said, but it's easy enough.

  • Have you thought about just straining your soup?

  • Refrigerate it and the fat will rise to the top and then you can skim it right off.
