  • I say phone. You don't have to try to smile at their meanness. Also, you can hang up and when they call back just say the phone disconnected. :-)

  • Telephone, definitely. I get along better with difficult people when they can't see my eye rolling and expressions of disgust and incredulity.

  • I guess I will be the odd ball :). I would in person. I hate talking on the phone and I worked years as a cashier, so I am use to dealing with people in person.

  • Well I would say phone. HOwever the other day I had a woman in person ask me "is it normal for a woman to be doing this job"...
My answer was "yes mam".. She was probably 20 years younger than me. Whew some one full of crap, not only was she mean she was a true bitch. Even her husband could not shut her up.
So I did okay in person too.

  • Me the phone. I worked for a car dealership for a while as the HR Director and Ex. Asst to the GM, well I pre-screened his calls, my job was to keep the complaints away from him. So yes, when people were p***** at the dealership I got called every name on the book, sometimes I would put my phone on speaker phone and keep working!
