Do you have a gallbladder?

I know it is common to need it removed after pregnancy.

  • Yeah. I have it... Why would it be removed after childbirth? I never heard that. I only know one person who has ever had it removed and she had gallbladder disease...

  • I have 5 kids and never hear such a thing. My moms docs rule is the 3 F's...female, fat and forty lol. That would be me! I had mine out this past April...I had chest pain that sent me to the er...thought I was having a heart attack...turned out full of gal stones. So I have now added that to the list of hardware I am currently without. Thyroid, Galbladder, Apendix and soon if I have my way I will be down one uterus too!

  • Why would it need to be removed after child birth? I have given birth 5 times and still have mine.

  • My started to fail while I was pregnant and I went through the last three months on a special diet. I had it removed a week and a half after my son was born. It's not uncommon at all to have it fail during or right after pregnancy and to need to removed. I found that out when my trouble started.
