Is it normal for a 2 year old to talk "gibberish"?

  • my daughters ped dr said it was normal when i asked him
    but
    then she continued to speak like that
    got her tested, she has autism

    if concerned speak to doc, get referral for speech therapist

  • Mine does at times, but she is mostly a great speaker. which does your lo do more, speak actual words, or sentences, or jibberish?

  • Sometimes we think it is gibberish but if you ask them they are just not saying words right. I have 4 and the youngest is speaking ok at times but then there are things that none of us understand. Have the doc check the child if they keep going and there is no understanding them but I would not worry completely until after 3.

  • Mine speaks great most of the time and there are days where it is complete gibberish. I do think that it is cute but if it continues after about 3 I would have him checked.
