what is the first day can a heartbeat be detected in a pregnancy? thanks!

  • Varies from pregnancy to pregnancy. Some can hear a heartbeat very early on... and some babies are positioned differently that can prevent hearing a heartbeat. Earliest is around 5-6 weeks I believe.

  • we didnt hear one until i was 14 weeks pregnant! each pregnancy is different!

  • I believe it can be detected at 10 days with an ultrasound. Usually around 10 weeks they are able to listen to it with a stethescope (not sure if that is really what it is - it is a special one for hearing babies heartbeat).
