How often do you dust?

I was rearranging furniture in my house and I was astounded at the amount of dust behind there. I dust quite often, but I don't move the furniture around and dust/vacuum under there enough, I guess. How often do you move your furniture and dust?

  • I move all the furniture about once every 3 to 6 months. Mostly when I'm rearranging for Christmas and then in the spring.

  • Our house gets to dusty so I do it at least once a month.

  • It varies a lot depending on the furniture. Dining room table gets moved weekly. Sofa gets moved weekly. I use the hose and head to do under beds 1-2 times a month. I do around the chair in a bedroom once a week but I only move it once every couple of months. Book shelves get moved about once a year but I poke under as best I can each week.

I do surfaces each week, different room each day, but if they look dusty in between or I know someone is coming over I give them a once over. I know some people say they never dust and things look fine but it's obviously a lie. Either they're dusting or living in filth, those are the only two options.

  • About once every two weeks, we have hardwood floors and it seems like the whole house is dustier than when we had carpet.
