Has anyone experienced a pregnancy after a tubal ligation?

I had a tubal ligation in November 2008 and have been having pretty regular cycles since. I started experiencing symptoms a couple weeks back starting with sore breasts, heartburn, frequent urination, mood swings, headaches, and I know this isn't common but I get a fine rash all over my body when pregnant. I have had 3 previous pregnancies and with each I was an itchy mess. Well, I have been denying that I could be pregnant since I've had a tubal but I just realized I am also late!!! My husband is bringing a test home tonight so I'll know for sure but I was wondering if any of you have carried to full term after a tubal? I am so afraid of a tubal pregnancy or a miscarriage that even if the test is positive I wouldn't know how to take the news. Please any stories would be greatly appreciated.

  • I haven't experienced it, but I do know that it can happen. Nothing is 100%.

  • I haven't had a tubal, but I know a few women that it's happened to. If you are, make sure that you get in to an OB right away to make sure it's not an ectopic pregnancy.

  • Jesus Christ. I had a tubal last year and I keep seeing more and more women getting pregnant AFTER their tubals. These posts scare the crap out of me.

  • Someone posted about this recently, perhaps on the "Newcomer" board. She miscarried (not tubal) but her Dr. said that one tube had repaired itself and she could try again (she wants to).

  • Yes.it can happen.I was told it all depends on if your tubes were tied or clipped.I'm no expert & I've never personally seenit happen, but my doctor told me it could happen.

  • i have had my tubes tied since 2007;; i have pretty regular periods..my last one starting aug 18...yesterday morning I went to the restroom and when i wiped, there was light pink on the toilet paper...((I have a week before I am due for my period.)) about an hour later I used the restroom again and there was a brown spot only when i wiped. After that I had no more spotting. I have also been feeling a little like I am about to start, but I havent....could i be pregnant? i have never had spotting with my other two pregnancies...but every pregnancy is different. Me and my fiance really hope I am.
