what do u do when your 5 year old son wont go to bed at a decent hour?

  • take his temp haha and then tell him if he keeps it up you'll have to take him out for icecream =) hehe

  • put him to bed, and stand in the hallway with the door open till he dozes off.

  • im not sure if 5 year olds dress themselves, lol but put pjs, and tell him he can stay up as long as he stays in his room

  • I had this issue.. but the rule was they had to stay in their room and in their bed. period. no light no playing no talking. amazing what boardom does for sleep... LOL

  • she has to be in her room, in bed, with the light off. sometimes she talks to her self quitetly for 20 mins, but she does go to sleep. i plan bed time so that if she takes a while to go to sleep, she still gets plenty of sleep before she has to get up the next day.

  • Wake him up at the exact same time every morning. This really helped for my son.

  • "Won't" hasn't been an issue in my house. Put him to bed at bedtime, wake him when it's time to get up. Enforce consequences if he gets out of bed.
