What can i do to make my 7 month old more comfy while he has hand foot mouth?

he got a shot at the doctors, is on motrin and i even put some teeting stuff on his cheeks. not sure what else i can do the poor guy is so sad.

  • Sounds like you are doing a good job. How old is he? Can he have "people food" Try milk shakes, pudding, yogurt, popsicles, anything soft and cold to soothe his mouth. Keep up with the Motrin, it is a good anti-inflamatory.

  • Our kids went through it this week (ages 2 and 4). Our pediatrician recommended tylenol/ibuprofen for the pain and possibly baby Orajel.

    Because of your child's age, I would certainly call the pediatrician to verify if they agree and what doses.

    Otherwise, a lot of TLC and patience.

  • Mix equal parts children's benadryl and maalox. It forms a paste type consistency. Rub that in the childs mouth especially before meals to help them eat better. My dentist recommended to a friend of mine and it worked wonders!
