hiccups and water

can i give my baby water when he has hiccups? will it help them go away?

  • some babies just hiccup. My son hiccuped a lot when he was younger. He is 14 months old now and it's a lot better, but occasionally he still gets them and a drink does not help.

  • my daughter hiccups multiple times a day, she's 5 days old, they don't bother her so i just let them go away on their own

  • Holding my breath always done the trick. It may be hard to teach a child that young to hold their breath but if the child is teachable it really does work, try it sometime.

  • Hiccups are more a bother for adults than children. they hiccup a lot and it goes away on its own.

  • My dd got them often. Still to this day if she has a big giggle she gets the hiccups...
