Is a "D" considered a passing grade by you?

Many schools consider a "D" "D-" or "D+" a passing grade for a class. Do you agree?

  • Absolutely not. A D is sub-standard, below average. Children should be encouraged to strive to be above average.

  • For me it depends. If my son tried his best and a D is the best he can do fine. If he didn't study, try, etc. then it's not acceptable. I know when they try or not.

  • NO.

  • Not for me, my husband use to say that "D's" were for dumb, but not to my kids of course!

  • No. For me...a C in not good enough. I am a A and B kinda of girl. Probably why I stress so much right in now in Grad school.

  • No.. At the school my son attended (Jr. & High School). STudents had to maintain a C average or higher. Anything below was failure, and could get you kicked out of the school (if the student wasn't able to bring the grade up).

  • I barely consider a "C" a passing grade; a "D" is definitely failing.

  • Depends on the Child. When I was in school I had some freakin hard earned D's! Some kids can study and get C and D's others don't study at all and get all A's.

  • D by us means you are almost failing, step it up or FLUNK.
