Can you get a period while breastfeeding?

I think I got my period but I'm breastfeeding. I thought you couldn't get a period while breastfeeding.

  • Yep. It may be delayed, but it doesn't have to be. Some women will get it right away, others won't...

  • no, that's not true. i have got my period back at 6 weeks with all 3 of my ebf babies.

  • Yep sure can, it can be really delayed in some woman but not in others. My first child it didnt return for 10 months but the other 1 it came back much quicker,and with the third I got pregnant while nursing and on BC. So keep in mind you can also get preg when nursing with or without a period.:)

  • Yep..I was so glad when I started after my son was born and it was regular because I was irregular with my daughter and got pregnant while breastfeeding. I stayed regular long enough for the husband to get snipped.

  • First 3 of mine came back right away but this last time its been weird. I wonder if its bc I had my tubes tied. But yeah EBF is no guarantee :)
