  • As long as one or the other isn't a minor I see nothing wrong with the difference in age. Age is a number, but the maturity of the person says it all.

  • It should not matter only that you are happy.

  • No there's nothing wrong

  • I think once you are at least 21, it doesn't matter anymore. Age is not a indicator of maturity. Be happy

  • My first husband was almost 13 years older than me.

    As long as you aren't 15 and he's 26, it's fine.

  • I think it depends on how old you both are. For example, it's not odd for a 55 yr old to date a 66 yr old. However, it's more than odd - it's wrong for a 15 yr old to date 26 yr old.

It's not just about the actual age between you, it's the proportional gap / ratio of how long you've been alive to how big the gap is sort of thing, kwim?

  • I agree with what another mom posted, depends on the actual ages in the first place. I personally think that after mid-twenties and up, all ages are acceptable. Under, not so much! But that's just me!

  • I guess not. My mother-in-law and father-in-law had a relationship where she was 17 years old and he was 37. And I thought that was odd when I first heard it. The problem I saw with this thinking is that when the guy is ready to retire or settle down in life, the other who may be younger may just be getting started and want more out of the relationship which may or may not be doable.

  • Nothing wrong with it. My sis in law is 20 years younger than my brother.

  • Nothing wrong with that.   Besides as you get older, the age gap gets smaller.
