How Do You Figure Out...?

...what haircut/hairstyle would look good on you? Seriously, I really have no idea of how to figure this out! I really need to cut my hair, it's become a security blanket and an ugly fuzzy one at that, but I have NO idea of what to say to a stylist. I tried looking at haircut books/websites, but for some reason none of their models are 40-year-old frumps, so it's somewhat difficult to determine anything from those pictures.

  • Find a good stylist. It may cost a bit, but it would be worth it to help figure out what works for you.

  • I have often thought of this my self. Where are the make over hair salons? Really someone needs to have one of those in every city. I will tell you what I did. I watched what not to wear a thousand times. I did not even know I needed a hair cut. Then one day I saw a woman who had my fore head and wham it hit me in the face. I need bangs. So look around in mags for pictures. Look at people ask people where they got their hair done.

  • Not only does face shape factor in, but your hair type does as well. You need to factor in if you have thick hair, coarse hair etc.
I have a great stylist that will tell me if a style that I am thinking of will work with my face shape and my hair type. It always used to frustrate me when the old stylist wouldn't tell me and just try to do what I wanted and then it would fail.

  • from this site you can see what styles you think look good, while a good stylist will help you determine which is best with your face shape and hair type...

also take into consideration things like hair line, eye shape, profile, nose, and mouth.. example.. if you have a long narrow nose you are going to want to part the hair from the side.. a middle part will elongate the nose further making it appear larger.. ..

if you want you can also PM me.. and I can give you afew other tips.
