  • buy the original blue dawn the biggest you can find its what vets use to tell me to use on puppies and kittens it works wonders(it can be used for other things as well) bath the dog in that and it will get rid of most of the fleas and get rid of the oil.

  • Peroxide in their bath water will kill them...also if you boil orange peels and use that water on the dog after the bath (rub it in) it will keep the fleas away

  • We tried the Dawn soap, and peroxide and it never worked...the one that worked for us was the pink Vel dish soap...we learned that one from our neighbor who has horses...he uses it to get rid of fleas and ticks on the horses, and it works great on our 3 outside dogs.

  • Diatomaceous Earth is AMAZING and all natural. It's actually a rock in powdered form that is mainly given to horses in their food.

You can put a thin layer all over your yard, on your dog and it can even have about a teaspoon a day added to their diet (depending on their weight). What is does is dehydrates and kills most bugs including tick and fleas but will not harm your dog.

I got a 50lb. bag for $30 at our local feed store but apparently the price is really different wherever you go. If you're interested this is a good website as far as info. goes:

  • As far as your carpets go try 20 mule team borax (SPELLING) it is a powder soap you find in the laundry section and sprinkle onto rugs and push in with broom and let sit 20 mins then vacume it kills flee eggs. I am allergic to fleas after we treated the animals we used it and they were dead. GOOD LUCK
