Any Mommies out there in their 20's have type 2 diabetes?

How did you know you were diabetic?

What kind of doctor do you see?

If I lose weight will it help me?

I am so worried right now. I have this horrible thought that my health from here on out is going to decline.

Will I be blind with bad feet at 40?

I am so scared.....

  • I don't have diabetes, but I know plenty of people who do. Rest assured that it is VERY treatable. If you take care of your body and treat the disease, you should have as long and healthy a life as anyone who does not have the disease. Your best defense is knowledge... go to this web page and read - http://www.diabetes.org/diabetes-basics/type-2/

You will be fine if you take care of yourself, eat a proper diet and take the medications your doctor prescribes. Diabetes is not a death sentence.

  • my sister is a certified diabetes educator. As long as you stick with the diet, you will be fine.

As with so many other medical issues, a low fat vegan diet is best: http://www.diabeteshealth.com/read/2007/04/24/5142/why-the-vegan-diet-is-best/
