Who has become a breastfeeding counselor?

I'm wanting to be a doula as a end result, but for now because of how my life is, it has to be put off for a little while. I was thinkignt hat i'd start my path with becoming a breastfeeding counselor and helping new moms and babies that way. But I'm having a hard time finding a good program. I'm in Canada. Does anyone know how i can achive my goal without having to take 5 years for school?

  • Have you considered becoming a Postpartum Doula? They also offer breastfeeding assistance as well as other postpartum support. Check out http://www.dona.org/mothers/faqs_postpartum.php
