Moist cake idea

What is the most moist cake you have had or make? I am looking for an almost gooey one (other than Paula Deens ooey gooey cake). Even if you don't have the recipe, I can probably google it.

  • Better than Sex cake. Bake a German chocolate cake as directed. While it's still a bit warm, poke it full of holes using a spoon handle, fork, skewer, something like that. Pour a can of sweetened condensed milk over it - slowly, so it soaks in. Then pour over some caramel, butterscotch, or butterscotch caramel ice cream topping - about 10 ounces - again, do it slowly so it soaks in. Cover and refrigerate. Once it's good and cool, spread 8oz of thawed Cool Whip, then if you want, top with mini chocolate chips, drizzles of chocolate syrup and/or more of the caramel, chopped toffee candy bars, chopped Butterfingers, anything like that that you like. Keep refrigerated. Tastes best on days 2 & 3 but keeps up to a week. Sooooooo good!

  • I used to make a "poor man's chocolate cake" - very moist. You can frost it if you want to, but it doesn't need it.

    3 c flour
    2 c sugar
    6 tb cocoa
    2 ts baking soda
    1 ts salt
    12 tb oil
    2 tb vinegar
    2 ts vanilla
    2 c cold water

In greased pan 13x9, mix all ingredients until smooth. Bake 350ΓΈ 40 to 45 minutes. Do not overbake.

  • Hellmans Chocolate Mayonaisse cake. It is fabulous.

The ice water is critical to this recipe.

  • well, i take any chocolate cake mix and instead of oil, I use a jar of babyfood applesauce and a jar of babyfood squash...and it's so incredibly moist !!!!!

  • Get a box cake......any flavor......cut back on the oil and water and make up the difference with applesauce.....or...... I also eliminate all oil and put a can of apple pie filling in the food processor, mix it in and also cut back on the water (about 1/2). Super moist, you really have to watch it when it bakes because the outside will start to pull away from the pan. If you use a chocolate cake and cherry pie filling it tastes just like a black forest cake!
