  • I think every parents wants to think that ther child is better than others or the average child his or her age. I think my son is advanced in alot of areas for his age but there is always room for improvement and I'm not going to teach my children that just because they are smarter or faster at something that they are better than someone else, or that it is ok to take it easy because they already know the minimum.

  • Well.... In the PSSA testing at my daughters school
    * Below Basic - seldom demonstrates grade-level appropriate concepts/skills for a particular subject/task.
    * Basic - at times demonstrates some grade-level appropriate concepts/skills for a particular subject/task.
    * Proficient - routinely demonstrates a variety of grade-level appropriate concepts/skills for a particular subject/task.
    * Advanced - consistently demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the grade-level appropriate concepts/skills and uses sophisticated strategies to solve a task.
    She scored Advanced in every subject....so thats pretty good. (:
