I need a 1/2 cup of oil, but don't have any for this cake What can .....

I use as a sub?

  • beleive it or not that happen to me the other day so i did not bake it and i wait till i get money for the turn out really good with sprinkles on top///but oil in cake sounds gross iwouldlikea subsutite....any suggestions?

  • applesauce....i always use it in place of oil for cakes, brownies, and pancakes. doesnt do anything to the taste and makes it a little healthier.

  • I may be able to omit the oil in the mix, thinking about it. Since it didn't ask for it in the recipe. -_- Gosh I am dumb sometimes. But at least I know for next time I make a regular cake and I don't have oil, I can use applesauce for a lower fat .

  • Mayo is a great subsitution. It's oil and eggs anyway. If you need a healthy option try applesauce - :) HTH
