  • My husband's mother taught him to cook & clean and he teaches our daughter about combustable engines when they repair the go cart and so forth.

  • I don't have any girls but I would teach her how to use hand tools properly. I know better than my hubby. I also am teaching my sons how to cook. Just because they are a boy or girl doesn't mean they shouldn't know basic things.

  • We only have our son but he already 'helps' in the kitchen and he sits on my lap when I paint my toe nails, so that I will paint his also! And he loves to help Daddy in the shop. We hope to help him be well rounded.

  • I don't know how to cook... But once I move I plan on learning and I figure if my son is interested he will learn with me.

  • No, I have taught my DH to use handtools properly, and I'm sure I'll be the one to teach my kids too... As for the cooking, yeah, I'm teaching my kids as I learn.

  • DD is only 2 so tools and cooking aren't the safest things for her to mess with now. Lol. She helps me mix and sometimes brings her little oven into the kitchen to "cook" with me. She loves tools but isn't allowed much access cause we don't want her to hurt herself. I'm still searching for a kid toolbox that doesn't suck and isn't too expensive. It'd be exactly the same if we had a son. I do more cooking cause I'm home. DH and I equally use the tool box.

  • I don't have daughters, but I teach my sons BOTH....I'm an excellent cook, and I'm pretty good with hand AND power tools too!! Sometimes things need fixing, and I can't always wait for my husband!! :o)
