What causes lotion to "peel"?

I just jumped out of the shower, and for once, I had shaved my legs! Afterward (because I am so tired of the dry, itchy skin) I lathered up with lotion. I went to rub my leg - you know, who doesn't love the silky smooth freshly shaven feel? - and the lotion is "peeling" - it rolled off of my skin like sunburned skin. Eww.

So - anyone know what causes it?

  • off the top of my head, i'd say the product has too much synthetic or waxy ingredients, and after applying, it tends to sit on top of the surface, rather than soak in..thus, allowing for the 'rub off' effect.

  • My guess would be that the rubbing made the dry skin come off.

  • Is the product out dated?

  • i think you need to get a new lotion it might not work anymore. makesure you get something for dry skin if you have dry skin so it can keep you moisturized
