When is garlic no good anymore? I have some I want to use and dont know if its still good.

  • i think as long as it smells ok and isn't moldy it's alright

  • It can last months as long as it's not moldy. Just like onions.

  • Garlic has a tendency to shrivel up and become hard and rubbery. It really isn't good when it gets like that.

  • if it dries out or gets moldy its not good anymore... if it starts to sprout you can still use it but it will be a lot stronger and maybe bitter...
    jarred garlic lasts practically forever unless its moldy

  • I think you have gotten good answers here. I googled it and I couldn't a single answer outside of it makes food taste bad. If there isn't a way to tell before you get that far, there are issues.
