newborn cough

My dd is 9 weeks old and she has had a cough for about a week now. I didnt say anything to her doc bc, when I thought about calling him I thought she was over it but now it seems to be getting worse..It sounds kind of like she has phelgm(sp) in her throat or a horsy (sp) cough..any ideas on what I should do or what I can give her? Thanks

  • Call your doc now. There's really nothing you can give oTC because she is so young. Run a vaporizeror cool mist humidifier in her room and try to put her to sleep with her head slightly elevated. Suction her nose as needed with Saline drops.

  • It could be several serious things including asthma. Your baby needs to be checked out.
