This just in...

Panera Bread has opened several stores that are allowing the option to pay whatever you want for the food. If you are doing great financially, then pay a lot, .... If you are down on your luck, then pay nothing.... If you are middle of the road, then pay fair value......

Your thoughts?

  • Panera Bread is a publicly traded company. The company actually grew in the recession.

  • So far, they are turning a profit. They haven't posted the exact percentage, but they keep opening more of these type of stores. They have a TON of restaurants throughout the country. This is just their charitable foundation.

  • Once I found out they were doing this, I ate lunch at their local restaurant (a regular one... they don't have the charity one here). It's such a great concept!
