Are illegals causing a health care problem in the United States?

Seriously...illegals cannot be denied services for medical care...how much is this costing us and how much more can we afford to continue this practice? Who is footing the bill? What is the solution?

  • Yes and so is the people who abuse the welfare system. NOT the families that really need the help but the ones who keep having children so they can stay on welfare and collect the money. We the hard workers pay for it all that is partially what our taxes go to.
Send the illegals home and make stipulations (sp?) on the welfare to be eligable.

  • It's not just illegals who can't afford healthcare. How many million Americans are uninsured right now? And how many of them can actually afford medical care when they need it? It's the fact that medical care is to expensive, as is health insurance, and it's a combination of numerous things that have caused the problems with health care in this country.

  • Maybe it's not "just" the illegals, but everyone else has a social security number and will end up paying at some point or another. Illegals don't and won't. I don't know if it's true, but I've heard that hospitals can send the bills of illegals to the government and the government pays them with our tax dollars.

  • Well, I'm guessing you, the poster, don't know any "illegals". Well, I do. And I can tell you that they work their asses off for the privilege of living anonymously in this country and are probably really afraid of, not only being deported, but any health problems because not every hospital is forced to provide health care to the uninsured. And I've been to the hospitals that do. They are not places you would want to find yourself. And how sad would you feel after working so hard all week every week to have to take your paycheck to a check cashing store and lose 20% of your wages to that blood-sucking business?
If you are looking for someone to blame for rising medical costs, look to the pharmaceutical industry...

  • They spend millions of dollars in the research and development of designer drugs and then raise the prices of any life-saving or much needed medications in order to offset losses on meds for hair loss, impotence, restless leg syndrome, etc.. And the less effective a drug turns out to be, the more they pay to advertise it. And guess who pays the price for all that advertising? Anyone who needs medication. Have you ever noticed that a Motrin pill given to you at a hospital can cost $200, something that costs maybe a few cents at the store? There's a reason for that.
Research this avenue and I think you'll find where all your medical insurance money goes, and stop blaming poor immigrants who would die to have the luxuries of health care that you have.

  • Surely Americans cause more of a health care problem seeing as 2/3rds are overweight and half of these obese.

  • yes they are, because, Americans are nice enough to not deny you in the emergancy room, if indeed it is a true emergency. I am origanally from Texas and I can tell you from personal experiences that once one gets a green card and becomes a manager at a restraunt or any working facility, they can rig the papers, give false social security numbers, and give illegal immigrants jobs pretending they are civilians. Ans they get away with it too, unless someone reports it, and then it is a hassel to get them deported.
BS about how hard they work..blah blah blah, they lose 20 % of their checks.
It's not hard to get a green card if you do it the right way, they put themselves in that position.
